MY JOURNEY AS AN ELEMENTARY STUDENT

"Kaira the great elementary kid"

When I was an elementary student, I discovered a lot of little things about myself because I was taught to build myself into who I am now. I can say elementary days are the most relaxed and one of the happiest years I've had. Because, in those days, I was a kid who was excited for a new day of adventure, every morning was another day of experience for me, though  it was really hard for me to wake up every early in the morning. Thanks to my loving mother for taking care of me and preparing my breakfast, which gave me a lot of energy for my new day of adventure filled with learning and fun. As a kid, it was hard to encounter many things that were new to me, but all of those challenges that came into my life as a kid, I accomplished them all successfully and gained true triumph.

Back then, my most hated subject was mathematics. I found it hard because I am not into solving numbers, but at the same time, I found it satisfying, especially when I finally solved multiplication and division. I cried a lot because of math problems that I could not solve. I also felt jealous back then because my other classmates were smart enough to do their math all by themselves, while I had to ask my older brother to help me with my math. So, I am able to submit my math assignments. Even though I hated math as an elementary  student, I really appreciated my math teacher, who had a lot of patience with us. Through my teacher, I learned a lot. As I reminisced about those memories, I can see smile on my face, I realized it was such a good moment that ever happened to my life and that I was very lucky to have this kind of experience as an elementary school kid.

On the other hand, the subject I enjoyed the most was Filipino, especially when my Filipino teacher read some interesting stories, such as an Alamat or Legend. My imagination traveled as my teacher read the story. I felt that I am also inside the book. When I was nine years old, I discovered reading as one of the interesting things to do as a kid because, through reading, I could explore and travel in different kinds of dimensions that my imagination could bring me. Through reading and listening to those stories, I found friends and a comfort place inside the book, a friend and a place that you cannot find here on earth. It was mesmerizing and beautiful; it was ineffable.

But as a kid, playing was the most fun to do because you had a good experience and bonded with your friends. I remember playing with them being really fun; we cried, we laughed, we fought a lot, and all that. As all of us are kids, I guess all of these are normal, and now they're all just part of our memories to keep and cherish.

I can say that those experiences of mine were very memorable and taught a lot of lessons.

a lesson such as it is okay to cry when you get hurt, it is okay to rely on others, it is okay to have fun, and even though you are just a kid, you can learn and you are capable of knowing something, and enjoy being a kid; Always think it is only once in a lifetime; explore; and be free.
Time flies so fast, so enjoy being a kid, play all you want, and cherish every moment of your life. Treat this as your preparation for a bigger world, so as much as possible, be happy.
